If you’re like the countless residents in the Puget Sound, without air conditioning, you are no doubt relieved that the initial heat wave has passed. With temps waffling between the 70s and late 80s, the outlook is looking optimistic. Now, the greater question is, are you planning to get outside and celebrate an optimistic week of ‘normalcy’ in the area? If you’re someone who is getting out in the weather, the folks of Reuben’s Brews hope you include them in your plans.

Celebrating their 10th years of business in Seattle’s Ballard neighborhood, Reuben’s Brews has spent the past year celebrating their friends with various collaborations. In between various celebratory releases, the brewery has hosted many festivals celebrating lagers, friendship, and of course their love of hazy or juicy india pale ales. With the past 8 months in the rearview mirror, the brewery is happy to conclude their celebration with a “block party”, this Saturday, August 6th. For Adam Robbings, co-owner and founder of Reuben’s Brews, the past 10 years feels surreal.

“Looking back, 2012 feels like both a lifetime ago and just yesterday!” says Adam Robbings. “So much has changed in Ballard and at Reuben’s over the past 10 years and we couldn’t have imagined where we would be at this point in our journey. We have so much gratitude for all of the support we’ve received since our opening weekend and we’re tremendously excited for the next 10 years.”

From 11 am to 10 pm, Reuben’s Brews invites you to celebrate with their staff and the neighborhood, on this their 10th year. Throughout the day, the brewery will feature all 10 of their beers, some recreated especially for this event, including two never-before-seen beers made by their staff and the Reuben’s Crew members. For Grace Robbings, co-owner and co-founder, this weekend’s anniversary “Block Party” marks another reunion of sorts.

“Our anniversary parties are always a fun way to catch up with our friends, neighbors, and industry partners,” says Grace Robbings. “It feels a bit like a family reunion. And this year is going to be that much more special. We’ve been looking forward to this event for months and can’t wait to swap stories, share memories, and raise a toast to Ballard, our favorite neighborhood in the world!”

With a plan focusing on being inclusive of all ages, Reuben’s Brews plans to release limited-edition glassware (to the first 100 visitors), hats, t-shirts, and posters for the event. Also, with the event being held throughout the main brewery taproom, look for live music (starting at 12 pm), Reuben’s Brews Robust Porter ice cream from local creamery Full Tilt, a kids area with activities and balloons, and of course local food vendors.

About Reuben’s Brews

Adam and Grace Robbings opened Reuben’s Brews in 2012, after an award-winning homebrewing career, naming it after their first child, Reuben. At their family brewery they brew from the glass backwards: designing each beer with intention, unbound by constraints. They know that making that extra effort is worth it. From everyday favorites to innovative new releases, they want to share a love of discovery. Reuben’s Brews. Beer Unbound.

The Reuben’s Brews Taproom (5010 14th Ave. NW in Ballard) is open daily 11 a.m. – 10 p.m., featuring an expanded outdoor seating area and To-Go Store. They strictly adhere to all current state and local health precautions to keep their customers and team safe.
