As you adjust to this new reality of staying home, consider using this time to expand your brewing knowledge. Whether you’re a homebrewer hoping to break into the craft beer industry or a professional brewer looking to sharpen your skillset, you can advance your brewing skills online with UC Davis Continuing and Professional Education.

Anyone can learn to brew quality beer every time with UC Davis’ online Beer Quality Series. Taught by brewing expert Charlie Bamforth, these courses teach the fundamentals of beer quality and how to assure a quality operation at any scale. Bamforth’s self-paced series covers all the key aspects that go into making a great beer in a straightforward and easy-to-understand format. Students who successfully complete these courses can also earn skill-level badges demonstrating their mastery in foam, flavor, freshness, color and clarity, and quality systems. Badges earned can be shared on job applications, social media and more—keeping your résumé up to date. All Beer Quality courses are currently open for enrollment and, for a limited time, will be available at a discounted price of $299 each. Courses begin June 29. Learn more.

Sign up for a free online information session on August 11 to learn more about our Professional Brewing Programs, including our Master Brewers Certificate Program and brewing short courses.

Looking for more? UC Davis Continuing and Professional Educations’ summer Brewing courses are now open for enrollment. Please note that due to the evolving nature of the coronavirus, courses may need to be rescheduled to later dates or adapted to online formats to ensure the safety of students, instructors and staff. Please check the website regularly for program updates.
