Spend Friday the 24th & Saturday the 25th at Counterbalance Brewing Company's 5th anniversary.

Nestled in the bosom of Seattle’s historic Georgetown neighborhood, away from the glow of Georgetown Brewing Company, lies Counterbalance Brewing Company. Opened in in 2014, with the support of friends, family, and eager imbibers, Counterbalance Brewing remains one of the area's many overlooked breweries. All the more reason, the brewery felt the need to let people know they are hosting an Anniversary party, Friday, January 24th and Saturday, January 25th.

Starting at 12 pm, owners Jeff Howell and Frank Lawerence, along with helpful staff, welcome you to stop in away from the blustery weather for some limited releases, on top of their usual assortment.

Should you seek the brewery out, you can expect to enjoy a Bourbon Barrel Aged Kushetka Imperial Stout, Vodka Barrel Aged Belgian Style Golden Ale, or 5 th Anniversary “5x5” IPA.

More on the three unique anniversary beers

  • 2020 Bourbon Barrel Aged Kushetka Imperial Stout- The third iteration of our collaboration with 2Bar Spirits, aged in 2Bar straight bourbon barrels for 12 months. Kushetka’s bold, roasty notes and hop bite to meld beautifully with oak and spicy bourbon. Available on draft and in 12oz bottles. Delicious now and will cellar well.

  • 2020 Vodka Barrel Aged Belgian Style Golden Ale- Belgian Golden Strong Ale aged in barrels previously used to age Glass Distillery’s grape-distilled vodka. The result is fruity, earthy, and complex with a wine-like body and delicate, yet potent, result. Available on draft and in 12oz bottles. Delicious now and will cellar well.

  • 2020 5 th Anniversary “5x5” IPA- A bright, full, flavored, citrus-forward Hazy IPA brewed with five grains and five hops and landing at a very balanced and drinkable 5% ABV. In radio parlance, “5x5” means “Loud and Clear,” and more casually, “all good,” which… it is. Available on draft and in 16oz cans.

In addition to three limited-edition releases, the brewery will feature their regular lineup of beers, and some unannounced surprises for those who make the trip.

For those looking to ensure they have a little ‘base’ before, during, or after the party, the ownership has enlisted the help of hot dog vendor Chavoya’s Hot Dogs, on Friday, and Layers Sandwich Co., on Saturday.

Stop in either day to celebrate another year of Counterbalance-brewed beer!
