Press Release

Rye Lagers are unusual and rarely available. It’s a style of beer more common in northern European countries where rye is grown. This historic beer is now available from Chuckanut Brewery on tap and in bottles. Chuckanut Rye Lager is inspired by cold weather with a deep golden color and toasty flavor due to the generous portions of rye malt & Spalt hops. This unique beer has a spicy rye bitterness rounded out with a creamy finish.

Chuckanut Rye Lager is a perfect match with rich sausages and mushroom gravy, Reuben sandwiches and roast pork. It’s also very satisfying with roast chicken. Need something to warm you up from inside then just grab a Chuckanut Rye Lager and relax in front of a firepit or fireplace and get ready for a real taste treat!

Chuckanut Brewery & Kitchen, located at 601 West Holly St, Bellingham, was awarded the National Small Brewpub/Brewer of the Year 2009 and National Small Brewery/Brewer of the Year 2011 at the Great American Beer Festival. Currently both locations offer outdoor seating (covered and waterside) as well as to-go pick-up for kegs, growlers and bottles of Chuckanut beer. A full food menu is available at North Nut. The South Nut Tap Room at 11937 Higgins Airport Way, Burlington is located at the Port of Skagit. Now both locations are open 7 days per week: North Nut (Monday-Sunday 12-8 pm) and South Nut (Monday-Thursday 3-6 pm and Friday-Sunday 1-6 pm) during phase 2 of Covid rules.
