Oktoberfest Northwest partners with tournament organizer, The 253 Cornhole, as part a three-day Munich-style celebration.

… Puyallup, WA — Oktoberfest Northwest presented by Evergreen Eye Center has partnered with The 253 Cornhole to host the 2019 Cornhole Tournament on Saturday, October 5th, as part of the three-day Munich-style Oktoberfest celebration, that takes place on Friday through Sunday, October 4th-6th, 2019, at Washington State Fair Events Center, in Puyallup WA.
The Cornhole Tournament will offer competitors and spectators a new level of excitement amidst the ongoing fun in The Sports Haus, which also features a giant 8' screen, two 50" plasma TVs, lounge seating, and a selection of bar games like Beer Pong and Holey Board.
Cornhole is played with a board that has one hole at one end of the board, that is placed several feet away from each player. Each player gets a chance to toss their colored bean bags to the board. Points are earned for various plays including for the bean bag making it in the hole, and being on the board.
When: Saturday, October 5, 2019 from noon
Where: The Sports Haus inside the Showplex Building at Oktoberfest NW.

Stein Holding Competitions (21+): For guests wanting to showcase their physical strength, the Stein Holding is the perfect competition. A crowd favorite at Oktoberfest NW; the goal is simply to ‘out stein hold’ your fellow competitors, and win great prizes. The Stein Holding competitions will be held in front of the Munich Festhalle Stage, at the following times:

Tapping of the Firkin (21+): The tradition of the "tapping of the firkin" (beer keg) was started by Mayor Thomas Wimmer in the 1950s. The mayor tapped the keg and called out "O'zapft is!" which means the keg has been tapped. Grab your stein. Don’t miss this!

Transportation Tent: Don’t drink and drive. The transportation tent will be located near the Blue Gate at Oktoberfest NW where taxi, or other car services like Lyft or Uber can pick guests up at the event.
