Festival News: WA: Seattle: Fremont Oktoberfest returns September 18th-20th

(Seattle, WA) ... – The 19th Annual Fremont Oktoberfest is taking over two city blocks of Seattle’s famed Fremont neighborhood, September 18-20, transforming it into the “Center of the Brewniverse” and playing host to 20,000 guests set to enjoy 100 craft and seasonal brews from 50 different breweries.

The lineup represents the full spectrum of beer options, including IPAs, Oktoberfest beers, ciders, and imports.

“Fremont Oktoberfest is the Northwest’s largest and most diverse fall beer festival, combining a fun Bavarian tradition with an incredible celebration of the area’s best beers and ciders,” says Creative Director Phil Megenhardt. “Fall brings an abundance of unique flavors that we can’t wait to showcase. We’ve got it all.”

In addition to numerous IPAs, such as Base Camp Brewing Fresh Hop Gnar Gnar IPA and local favorite Fremont Brewing Co.’s Interurban IPA, and wheat beers, such as Peddler Brewing Co.’s Tangerine Wheat,  the Fremont Oktoberfest lineup is filled with truly unique flavors. More than 25 IPAs, 15 ciders, 10 marzen-style beers, 10 lagers, eight pale ales, six pumpkin-flavored ales, five stouts, five Weiss beers, two porters and two winter beers are on tap. An additional 15 seasonal craft brews that don’t fall into a specific style of beer will also be poured.

Fall is well represented with numerous pumpkin flavored brews, including Two Beers Brewing’s Pumpkin Spice Ale and 10 Barrel Brewing’s Big Ol’ Pumpkin Ale, and Oktoberfest-style brews, including Ninkasi Brewing’sOktoberfest, and Spoetzl Brewery’s Shiner Oktoberfest.

For those hoping to experience nostalgia, homage is paid to the original Munich Oktoberfest with traditional German beers, such as Hoffbrau Dunkel and Warsteiner Oktoberfest.

The more adventurous beer drinker may want to try No-Li Brewhouse’s Wrecking Ball Stout with 9.5 percent alcohol by volume (ABV) and Hop Valley’s Alpha Centauri IPA with 9.0 percent ABV, while the cider lover is sure to be excited with the abundance of unique flavors, including Schilling Cider’s Mischief Mixer Pomegranate Cider, or Atlas Hard Cider’s Hard Blackberry-Elderberry Cider.
