Northwest Beer Guide: OR: Portland: 2015: Dine with your favorite brewer during the Craft Brewers Conference

The Craft Brewers Conference (CBC) is the only industry event that serves both brewpubs and packaging breweries.

For professional brewers, CBC is the number one environment in North America for concentrated, affordable brewing education and idea sharing to improve brewery quality and performance. The conference is also a great social event with 10,000+ brewing industry professionals enjoying craft brews together. BrewExpo America® allows exhibitors and buyers to develop profitable business relationships and helps brewing and brewery restaurant professionals encounter the latest and best products and services that industry vendors have to offer.

Don’t miss out on this fantastic opportunity to be a part of this year’s conference and trade show for the brewing and brewpub industry! (Please note: This is an industry only conference and trade show & is not open to the public.)

If you read the above then you've know doubt been scratching your scalp raw, trying to surmise why we put that there.

It's a warning to everyone, citizen and tourist alike, to run like hell; as brewers and breweries (technically more than plural) descend on Portland.

Starting Monday, April 13th, and running through April 17th - the Rose City will be filled with over 10,000 members of craft brewing brotherhood.

While in town, those brewers, brewery representatives, and owners; will be visiting various seminars and tables, all in the name of making better beer.

But rather than describe courses like "Brewhouse Operations, Part One: Influence on Yield and Quality" or "Beyond the Daily Grind: Community Partnerships and Sustainability", I'm here to let you in on a little secret; there's rare beer to be enjoyed.

As a blissful side-effect of visiting PDX, out-of-state breweries (that don't currently sell beer in Oregon) will be temporarily invading bars and restaurants, to create one of the largest block parties known to man.

Additionally there will be dinners, complimented with both instate and out-of-state breweries. Without further delay here are some helpful places to check out, starting on Monday.

About Coquine Supper Club
Coquine is a soon to be opened restaurant at 6839 SE Belmont street in Portland's Mt. Tabor neighborhood. Chef Katy Millard and Ksandek Podbielski began their trek towards the top of Mt. Tabor in 2012, staging one-of-a-kind dinner parties and pop-ups on farms, in wineries and in other restaurants. Along the way this husband and wife duo have developed a ravenous following for Katy's sophisticated but playful food, and Ksandek's genuine hospitality and knack for pairing food and drink, which was mostly recently showcased serving as head of the wine program at award-winning restaurant Roe. Katy spent five years working her way up through five different Michelin-starred kitchens in France, and worked as the sous chef at Daniel Patterson's upscale Coi Restaurant in San Francisco before helping him launch Plum.
