Full Sail pairs well with Whiskey

Anyone growing up in the Northwest has had a Full Sail Session Lager or Amber. It should also be no shock that Hood River’s own is a huge supporter of barrel aged beers as demonstrated in the past 5 years. From their Whiskey Barrel Aged Black Gold Series (alternating annually between their Imperial Stout and Imperial Porter) to their recent Brewer’s Share Amber from Andy Cummings these guys desmonstrate what oak’ing a beer in a large scale means.

Paired with Full Sail is the distillery Forty Creek from Ontario, Canada. Famous for the Barrel Select (a Canadian Blend of aged in white oak barrel and then rounded off in sherry casks) the distillery has a strong following for their limited edition Whiskeys. This is what Forty Creek’s peers had to say about John and the distillery.

“Forty Creek is produced in Grimsby, Ontario (between Hamilton and Niagara Falls) by John K. Hall, first generation whisky maker, and owner of Kittling Ridge Wines & Spirits. Malt Advocate magazine named John Hall “Pioneer of the Year” in 2007 because of his contribution to new lines of thought and new methods in the world of whisky. Forty Creek is made by the only 100% Canadian distillery remaining in Ontario, Canada” source, Wikipedia.com

Please join us on the 9th of September when Brewmaster John Harris and Distiller John Hall educate your palette and your mind in the ways of barrel aged beers and whisky.

“Produce Row Café welcomes John Harris, Brewmaster at Full Sail, and John K. Hall, Distiller at Forty Creek Whisky. This event will celebrate the launch of, "The Schooner: Full Sail Ltd. 03/Forty Creek Barrel Select Whisky," the newest addition to Produce Row Café's "beer & whiskey pairs" menu. Mr. Harris and Mr. Hall, respectively, will discuss the production process and tasting notes of Full Sail Ltd. 03 and Forty Creek Barrel Select Whisky. Take advantage of this rare opportunity to meet these mixmasters and taste their award-winning libations.
All are welcome and there is no charge for this event. We hope you are able to attend!”

Cheers
