Either way, this is another excellent year in West Seattle to enjoy Barleywines both old and new at this year Barleywine Bacchanal.

By definition a Bacchanalia (or Bacchanalia) is wild and spiritual party all inspire by the Roman god Dionysus (aka, Dionysus). Known as the Greek / Roman god of wine, he later (through the Roman's) became the god of agriculture and theater.

"He was also known as the Liberator (Eleutherios), freeing one from one's normal self, by madness, ecstasy or wine.[3] The divine mission of Dionysus was to mingle the music of the aulos and to bring an end to care and worry." -source, Wikipedia

However you want your history fed to you, the Barleywine Bacchanal, is nothing to fear, unless it concerns your liver. Featured starting Friday (2/26) is over 24 different Barleywines at any given time, until all 50 are put on, and lasting till March 6th. Also littered throughout the week will be themed events, to test your wills and help nourish the curiosity.
