There is no “right” way to make fresh hop beers, but our method relies upon our brew house which we specifically designed to use whole hop flowers. As a result, our fresh hop beers are made with hops at the peak of their ripeness, with less than 1 1/4 hours passing from the field to the brewery. These fresh beauties go straight into our hop back - 200 to 300 lbs for 15 barrels of beer - where the hot wort extracts all of their delicate, delicious oils. There are faster ways to release a fresh hop beer, but we think this method, and the subsequent wait, results in the best fresh hop beers we can make. We hope you’ll agree.
The Kölsch Party will be a unique opportunity for beer enthusiasts to indulge in a variety of exceptional Kölsch beers crafted not only by Gigantic Brewing but also by some of their esteemed friends in the brewing community. Participating breweries include 54-40, Chuckanut, Double Mountain, Living Haus, Occidental, Rosenstadt, Upright, and Zoiglhaus, all of whom have a reverence for this most delicate of German beers.
The idea for this beer came from a serendipitous encounter in Tokyo during the Hood to Fuji Beerfest, when the brewmasters from Gigantic & Von Ebert were walking the city looking for their next stop. They saw a second-story window with “Enjoy House!” painted on it that was lit with Christmas lights. They went up the stairs to discover a dive bar decorated with streamers and balloons with cool music and friendly vibes. That late-night experience inspired them to create Enjoy House! IPA.

Czech Your Cold IPA is a Czech Lager made like an ale. It is a light bodied beer with hints of lemongrass, lemon peel, a quintessential hoppiness, and a subtle dry finish. We used 100% Bohemian pilsner malt to create a clean base, adding Czech Saaz hops and Oregon grown Mt Hood and Crystal hops to invoke the hoppy exuberance of West Coast IPAs. Whereas a standard cold IPA is an IPA brewed more like a lager, our beer is a lager brewed more like an IPA. If you asked us, “Do we like to brew IPAs or Pilsner?” Czech. Czech!
Seth Allen, creator of Comedy Extravaganza, reflects on the past year, “The Comedy Extravaganza grew up so much in its first year because everyone at Gigantic Brewing is a part of the show, and everyone who comes to the show is a part of the show, and the comedians are a part of the show, and together we learned the only thing that can divide us are opinions on The Rainstorm. That's a running joke you would get if you came to the Comedy Extravaganza. We've become the hottest (and wettest) show in town, and we're just getting started!
