Homebrewers, get your entries in by July 26th, for the 2024 Central Oregon Pro-Am Brewing Challenge.

This competition is open to any Oregon resident homebrewer age 21 or older and is not limited to any particular category or style of beer, within the below guidelines. The beers will not be judged to a specific Beer Judge Certification Program (BJCP) style, but for technical merit and appeal for commercial brewing. Silver Moon Brewing and Migration Brewing enter joint brewing production agreement.

The two companies both distribute in their primary markets of Oregon and Washington through Columbia Distributing, and share success in the Colorado market through Colorado Craft Distributors. The partnership will further explore where efficiencies and economies of scale might provide additional regional distribution. It’s a natural fit” according to Eric Banzer-Lausberg, Sales Director and Co-Founder of Migration Brewing. “We have a shared value set in our approach to creating awesome craft beer experiences and high quality products. This partner brewing project is a great addition to Migration’s production portfolio and we look forward to working more closely with the Silver Moon team,” said Banzer-Lausberg.

Avid Cider is leaving their location in Bend, in November, as part of a production and taproom expansion in 2024.

"The Box Factory has been Avid’s home for the last eight years" said Avid Cider's CEO and Co-Founder, Samantha Roberts. "While we will miss the location and the roots we have built there, we are incredibly excited to start a new chapter for the Avid brand that will continue our trend of growth and brand expansion" she continued. Avid’s relocation plan is already well underway with exploring opportunities and locations to reopen their taproom in 2024 at a new location in Bend, Oregon.

Avid Cider announces cidery expansion into a 15,000 square foot warehouse in Redmond, Oregon.

"We're so excited to move into a fantastic new production facility," said Avid Cider's CEO and  Co-Founder, Samantha Roberts. "This move will allow us to increase our production capacity  and continue to meet the growing demand for our ciders and Seven Peaks Seltzer brand. continued success." she continued. Avid plans to keep all current production employees and will  plan to hire additional roles within the company as operations expand.

After evaluating multiple technologies for dealcoholization Deschutes Brewery is confident the BrewVo® technology is superior to other methods at delivering the highest quality and best tasting non-alcoholic product. Deschutes Brewery originally partnered with SBT for the release of a non-alcoholic Stout, Irish Dark in 2020 and by early 2022 launched the groundbreaking alcohol-free version of the brewery’s porter, Black Butte Non-Alcoholic which utilizes all the same specialty malts and hops as the original for a full-flavor experience consumers expect from the number-one-selling craft porter in the U.S.

Winners of this year's Best of Craft Beer Awards announced, including breweries Sunriver, Humble Parlor, and Widmer Brothers.

Breweries of all sizes sent over 16,000 containers of their finest product for evaluation entered in 59 categories and subcategories.

Judging took place during a 3-day, five-session period by over 100 of the most qualified international judges. They awarded 165 gold, silver, and bronze medals to 128 brewery locations around the world.

Oregon breweries Boneyard Beer and Ecliptic Brewing collaborate to release STARPM IPA. The latest in Ecliptic's Collaboration Series.

STARPM IPA is a mashup recipe of Ecliptic’s Starburst IPA and Boneyard’s RPM IPA – both companies’ flagship beers. Both of the original beers are heavily hopped, and the mashup is no exception, featuring Citra, Simcoe, Centennial, Azacca and Amarillo hops for a citrusy and tropical flavor. The beer features a classic malt profile and clocks in at a solid 7.2% ABV.
