If you are like a large chunk of the country, you’ve probably been shoveling a path from your doorstep or driveway, as you emerge from an atypical Winter, in the region. Then again, some might say, it beats living in a temperate region. Be you adventurous Winter explorer or a domestic warrior, hunkered down within your four walls, it’s safe to say you could use a beverage right about now. That’s where Mother Earth Brewing Company comes in.

Like so many breweries, who have shifted from hosting guests indoors, Mother Earth Brewing has metamorphosized from taproom and brewery to well just a brewery. But the dedication to producing awe-inspiring beers has never wavered, despite the lack of a sit-down experience in Vista. Which is why the brewery is pleased to remind you of their latest Project X release, Flawless Imperfection. But first some introductions.

Explained this way, Project X is an expression from both brewer and artist.

For Mother Earth Brewing it starts with the artistic medium be it on “canvas, street art, or even sculpture”. Teaming up with artists across different walks of life, the brewers of Mother Earth are inspired to create something as inspiring as the artwork featured on the can. The result is a beer adorned with a name reflective of that relationship between artist and brewer, between two medium fluid and permanent. Like the artwork featured on the label, these beers are unique and not to (more than likely) not seen again.

Recognizing the chaos of 2020 and the angry noise of early 2021, Mother Earth Brewing Company has birthed a Hazy IPA inspiring calm in Flawless Imperfection. And it might be the best beer the brewery has made for this series.

Designed to be a tropical escape in a glass, Flawless Imperfection could be one of your mixtape beverages, if ever the question was asked.

Brewed with classic hits Citra and Simcoe, Flawless Imperfection produces a power ballad of tropical fruit juice in both nose and taste. But beers like this require more than a duet. Paired with the tropical-inspiring Sabro hop, the beer develops notes of orange blossom, tangerine and apricot before layers of passion fruit, and mint, back up the rhythm section. Coupled with perfect balance of malt, and you have a beer that will inspire a planet ticket to somewhere warm and isolated.

Not willing to remain humble here’s what Christopher Baker, Director of Brewing Operations had to say.

We couldn’t be happier with how this brew turned out all-around. It’s all there – Huge aroma, balanced drinkability, persistent haze without being chalky, and just the right amount of sweetness for the New England style. It also helps when you find just the right combination of hops. It can lead to extraordinary results. This is one of those times.

Course, before you taste what’s inside you have to see what’s exposed. You have New York City artist Zofia Bogusz to thank for that.  In her own words she shares this.

Polish born, NYC raised, Zofia has always worked with art as a means of expression. She exhibits her paintings in galleries, enjoys teaching art to children and is currently learning how to translate her imagery onto skin (tattooing).

With a BFA from the School of Visual Arts in New York City, Zofia Bogusz employs multiple mediums including graphite on paper, oil on canvas, oil on wood,  oil and acrylic on wood, and recently watercolor. Each image shared either on her social media or her website, is inspiring and inspired. In fact, Zofia’s “Nimra”, an oil on wood panel piece, won Mother Earth Brewing over and is featured as the label for their latest Project X series beer.

Opining on why they selected this one, is Mother Earth again.

The art adorning the cover of the 16oz cans is as impressive as the liquid held within, exquisitely painted by NYC-based artist Zofia Bogusz: The glowing close-up of a female’s eye, carried out with elegance and attention to detail. It’s quite something to behold while sipping on a brew done with equal mastery.
