Four Winds Brewing Company has released another fruited-fantasy with Pomona.
Whether you grew up or near an orchard, you have no doubt enjoyed a fresh-off-the-vine peach or apricot. Who could blame anyone, once you bite into something so succulent, mouth-watering, and sweet as apricot or nectarine? Maybe that's why Delta's Four Winds Brewing Company chose these two appealing, stone fruits, for their latest release - Pomona.
Aging away Fresh oak foeders and bottles, with wild yeasts Lactobacillus and Brettanomyces, Pomona is sour ale aged with apricots and nectarines. The end result is a beer that has been described by the brewery as a "bold and bright sour wheat ale." Made with fruit from the Similkameen and Okanagan Valleys, you better get a move on to get your hands on the locavore treat in a bottle.
