Start your Summer early with three new releases from Boundary Bay Brewing

The official start of Summer is nearly here but you wouldn't know by the weather in the area. Recovering from the haze and fun of Bellingham Beer Week, Boundary Bay Brewing Company has released several new beers to remind you that although 10 days of beers have passed, the beers will always be flowing.

Starting out with Summer Vibes, the brewery gets a jump on Summer beers with this little 5.3% ABV 30 IBU bit of fun.

Made with 2-Row Pale, Pilsner, and Vienna Malts, one might think they were drinking a pilsner. Based on the use of Mount Hood, Cascade, and Saaz hops, it would almost see the case. Fermenting away with American Ale yeast, the brewer's notes opine an ale that is herbal, grassy, earthy, with a hint of spice as it leaves a mild trace on the palate while remaining refreshing.

Moving along, we revisit a familiar friend in a 4.5% ABV 8 IBU Citraweisse.

As the name says, this beer reaches back into the classic style of old to brew a Berliner-style weiss beer. Using the kettle-souring technique with employs the use of lactobacillus, a wild yeast culture, the brewery starts with a traditional lager recipe before letting the wort chill out overnight, while it gets to know the wild yeast. The next day, it's business as usual as the brewery turns up the heat and evicts the wild yeast before adding a copious amount of Citra and Bobek hops. The end result is a beer that has all the trimmings of an adult glass of lemonade

Finally, the brewery is happy to announce BLI ^PA Flight #320 is ready for takeoff.

Brewed in homage of owner and Captain, Ed Bennett, this beer has all the characteristics that makeup Bennett. Starting with six hop varieties; Zeus, Citra, Calypso, Lemondrop, Mosaic, and El Dorado; Flight #320 leaves you in a tropical haze as you recall notes of citrus, papaya, and pineapple. In addition to it's tropical flavors, the beer manages to leave a soft yet dry finish on the palate. Landing in at 6.5% ABV 43 IBU, you won't believe how smooth this beer is until like your flight it's too late.
