Seattle Beer Week 2019, our picks through next Sunday

The first weekend of Seattle Beer Week gone, we move onto the (only full) week of SBW. As we have done in the past, we are listing the stops on our list.

Monday, May 13th - 6:30 PM pFriem Beer Dinner. Union Saloon.

3645 Wallingford Ave N, Seattle, WA 98103.

Hosting a multi-course dinner, paired with Hood River (Oregon) brewery, pFriem Family Brewers, an evening like this is hard to come by at $75.

Why we are going.

Last year's dinner was awesome, with many of the dishes paying homage to Japanese kitchen techniques. Also, we can't argue when one considers the inexpensive (as dinners go) $75 admission fee.

Tuesday, May 14th 6:30 PM - 9:30 PM. Gilbert's Cheese Experience Premiere. Stoup Brewing Company.

1108 Northwest 52nd Street Seattle, WA 98107.

Includes Each ticket include: 4 selected artisanal cheese samples, 4 5-oz Stoup beers, a small takeaway bag with cheeses, a raffle ticket good for an opportunity to win an 8-lb block of Beecher's Flagship cheese.

At Gilbert's Cheese Experience, we break the mold. You won't just taste — you'll participate in a fun, interactive experience using all of your senses. We go beyond "farm to table," bringing the highest-quality cheeses directly to the source of the products we're pairing with. Oh, and you'll get snacks the whole time.

Why we are going.

Paired with Stoup's exceptionally thought-out ales and lagers, we know that this event will be a memorable one.

Thursday, May 16th 11:00 AM SOURFEST! Brouwer's Cafe. 400 N 35th Street Seattle. WA 98103

Why we are going.

Pack the TUMS and your wallet for this one but if you love sour beers, then this is your event. Brouwer's Cafe, as they have the past, never fails to disappoint.

Friday, May 17th 7:00 PM to 10 PM Reuben's Brews Invitational Symposium.

1153 Northwest 51st Street Seattle, WA 98107

Why we are going

There's nothing more unique than listening to brewers explain what it means to be a brewer or a brewery in the 21st century. Look for legendary brewery owners and brewers to be in attendance, moderated by Washington Beer Blog's Kendall Jones.

Saturday, May 18th 11:00 AM 3rd Annual Invitational Festival. Reuben's Brews

1153 Northwest 51st Street, Seattle, WA 98107

Come join Reuben's Brews for the 3rd annual Reuben and Friends Invitational Beer Festival. We've invited some of our friends, well-respected brewers and/or brewery owners from around the state and the country, to spend the day at our brewery and enjoy some phenomenal beers.

We will have the back patio open to allow everyone to spread out, enjoy some live music and drink some great beers. The full taplist and tapping times will be announced as we get closer to the date!

Why we are going

The past two years have provided an exhibition of breweries, located in one of Seattle's most kinetic locations for brewery openings. What's more, Reuben's Brews' location allows guests to relax without having to worry about the trappings that come with a traditional festival. Take it from us, this is a fun one - even if the prospect of this Saturday brings with it cloud-filled skies.

05:00 PM GateCity IPA for North Helpline. Watershed Pub & Kitchen.

10104 3rd Ave NE, Seattle, WA 98125

This is the second time we’ve made this beer to raise money for North Helpline, a poverty assistance and food bank service right across the street from our brewery. North Helpline works to make sure our neighbors have food on their tables and a roof overhead.

Watershed Pub & Kitchen, North Helpline, and Hellbent Brewing Company all came together again to create a beer and an event that support our neighborhood--the Northgate and Lake City communities (hence “GateCity IPA”). A host of local bars and restaurants are participating to make the GateCity IPA project come to life. At every location during Seattle Beer Week (May 10th-May 19th), $1 per pint of GateCity IPA will be donated to North Helpline. ...

Why we are going

After being inundated with options on Thursday, Friday, and Sunday; we welcome a nightcap at Watershed Pub & Kitchen which includes a pint of GateCity IPA. Stop in Saturday and support North Helpline.

11:00 AM Coffee Beer & Donuts. Reuben's Brews.
