A day or a weekend, McMenamins has your St. Patrick's Day weekend covered.
Despite being one of the furthest areas from Ireland, the Pacific Northwest has enjoyed some of the greenest St. Patrick's Day parties and festivals in the United States. Recognizing this, McMenamins' brewery and lodging locations have some suggestions if you are in need of a place to celebrate the green stuff. It’s worth noting that all locations will be hosting a party on March 17th, 2019.
Friday, March 15th to Sunday, March 17th
Starting in Troutdale, Oregon, one is encouraged to book a room at McMenamins Edgefield. There you will be treated to daily Irish dancing from 1pm, at varying locations including the Loading Dock, the Little Red Shed, and the Winery Tasting Room (21 & over please). Should you work up a hunger from walking the grounds, Edgefield has St. Patrick's Day specials including Irish Stout, Irish Coffee, Irish Reuben, Irish Stew, and Corned Beef and Cabbage. Younger guests aren't excluded, as the brewery will offer up candy and balloons to pair with a face painting. Finally, there will be a winery and distillery tasting from 3 pm to 5 pm shortly after the 1 pm golf tournament starts.
Moving onto the Grand Lodge, in Forest Grove (Oregon), guests will be entertained by music from Coyote Willow and McDougall, from 5:30 PM to 10 PM. Food and drink specials include Irish Stout, Irish Coffee, Corned Beef & Cabbage, Irish Reuben and Irish Stew.
Should you find yourself in Bend, Oregon, the Old St. Francis School is hosting live music at O'Kanes, Father Luke's and the Fireside Courtyard, with intermission entertainment courtesy the Bend Fire Pipes and Drums. As with the Grand Lodge and Edgefield, the drink specials are the same with the food specials being Irish Reuben, Irish Stew, and Corned Beef & Cabbage.
Moving right along, to McMinville (Oregon), guests can book a room or spend a few hours at McMenamins' Hotel Oregon. There one will be entertained with live music from Ships to Roam and Strange Hotels starting at 4 pm and concluding by 10 pm. For those 21 and over, additional live acts will be featured in the Cellar Bar, by Sonny Hess or if you prefer the Paragon Room will host Chris Margolin. Drink special remain the same as with other locations but the food specials are Irish Reuben and Irish Stew or Corned Beef & Cabbage.
Sensing a drink theme, those staying at or living around McMenamins' Anderson School in Bothell, Washington, will be entertained by the Colm MacCartheigh Trio and Cavort Celtic, in the Shed from 1 pm - 7 pm. From 7 pm to 10 pm, guests should head to Haynes Hall, where the Chris Poage Band will play the night away. If you feeling a pick peckish from all those Irish Coffees or Irish Stouts, then you'll want to take advantage of the Irish Reuben, Corned Beef & Cabbage, Sheppard's Pie, or Irish Stew.
Finaly, those in Portland at the famous McMenamins' Kennedy School, can expect live acts from The Murray irish dancers, from 4 pm - 5:30 PM, in the gym. Live music will begin after 5:30 pm with the food special being Irish Stew, Corned Beef & Cabbage.
