Pike Brewing Company announces the release of Tripel Kriek, Green Jacket IPA & the promotion of Pilsner to year-round availability.

Barely into March, Pike Brewing Company has announced three beers just in time for your Fat Tuesday or St. Patrick's Day parties.

Inspired by the classical style Belgian beer, the Kriek, head brewer Art Dixon took their Monk's Uncle and aged it with cherries in chardonnay barrels from Chateau St. Michelle. The result is Pike Tripel Kriek, a beer that is both familiar and unfortunately only available on draft. Look for this one, already available at Pike Brewing Company's pub before being distributed throughout Washington a short time after.

Following up the sentiment that March is all about libations, the brewery is happy to announce the cooperation with local pub Flagstick.

In honor of the Flagstick Pub's 5th Annual Flagstick Master, held April 14th, the Pike brewery and Flagstick ownership got together to release this unique IPA. Known simply as Green Jacket IPA, this beer is described as heavily " ... hopped with Citra and dry hopped with Chinook and Cascade." In addition, the beer will inspire thoughts of mountain hikes in the damp forest or while negotiating a horrible lie in the brush of your local golf course. Unfortunately, Pike Green Jack IPA is exclusive to all Flagstick Pub locations and of course at Pike Brewing Company's pub and sister eatery, Tankard & Tun. But the brewery is happy to share some beer with those willing to attending one of the following events.

  • First Kegs Tapped: Friday, March 15
First kegs of Pike Green Jacket IPA are tapped at Pike and Flatstick locations: at The Pike Pub, Tankard & Tun, Flatstick Pub Kirkland, Pioneer Square, and South Lake Union

  • Kickoff Parties: Wednesday, March 27, 6-8pm
Join the #PikeBrewCrew at all three Flatstick Pub locations for the official kickoff party for Pike Green Jacket IPA and win prizes when you Beat the Brewer at Kirkland, Pioneer Square, and South Lake Union Flatstick Pubs. Beat the Brewer Challenges: Duffleboard Table, Kirkland; Stick Putt Challenge, Pioneer Square; Ball Jockey Competition, South Lake Union.

  • 5th Annual Flatstick Masters: Sunday, April 14, 11am
At Flatstick Pub Kirkland for the 5th year in a row is the Flatstick Masters! Play alongside fellow putt putt golfers to compete for the Grand Prize: the coveted Flatstick Green Jacket and half off beers for life! Tournament winner gets entry into the Tournament of Champions. Tickets on sale soon.

Finally, the brewery is happy to remind everyone that Pike Pils will be once again a year-round beer. Keep your eyes peeled for cans and of course draft, starting this month.

A refresher, in the brewery's own words, what makes Pils so special.

A zesty, bright, and refreshingly hoppy Pilsner, Pike Pils captures attention with light German malts and whole leaf Mosaic hops. Featuring floral and light melon flavors, this crisp lager offers big aroma, a dry finish, and enough hops to satisfy the Northwest palate.
