Two unique events are fast approaching on the San Juan Islands

Press Release

Friday Harbor, WA…  Thomas Jefferson believed that beer, “if drunk in moderation, softens the temper, cheers the spirit and promotes health.” Visitors will have a chance to experience all three at two fabulous beer events, both are back by popular demand during Savor the San Juans. Savor is a great way to ease into a slower time of year while indulging in the food, spirits, music, and natural beauty of Orcas, Lopez and San Juan Islands.

Calling all cyclists for the Friday Harbor Bike-n-Brew, September 15! Providing a day of stunning, and diverse scenery along three routes; ranging from a Metric Century along a nationally recognized Scenic Byway down to a family-oriented fun route. Experience rolling farmland, pastoral valleys, island forests, groves of Garry Oaks and Madrone trees, seashores, distant islands, and maybe even a pod of whales.

Cyclists will see seaside parks, historic Roche Harbor, and a national park or two, even a lighthouse, depending on route. The Bike-n-Brew will bring four of the area’s microbreweries, from Orcas Island, Lopez Island, and San Juan Island, to the San Juan County Fairgrounds for beer tasting. Relax and share your biking adventures while enjoying one-of-a-kind keg and bottled samples of local handcrafted microbrews. For additional local information or to be added to the email list, please contact: Info@FridayHarborBike-n-Brew.org

The Hops on the Rock beer festival on November 10th is literally shutting down the streets of Eastsound to host a weekend of drinking, dancing and NovemBEER events all across beautiful Orcas Island. Live music, local food, and 20+ local breweries from around the region will be in attendance for a destination beer festival like no other. “We are thrilled to share our island culture with some of the best folks in the industry—and over some of the best beer around. Something we’ve long talked about, it’s exciting to see it finally come to life!” says co-founder of the event and owner of Island Hoppin’ Brewery, Becca Gray. “Breweries attending will include Aslan, Georgetown & Black Raven Brewing, among others, who will be showcasing their talents alongside renowned local chefs with tasty bites to share.
