Celebrate Skagit Farm to Pint Week with Chuckanut Breweries

Press Release

With the brewery population growing in Skagit County a beer week has been designed to focus on their beers, breweries and activities to educate beer drinkers to what’s going on in Skagit. Not only are there breweries but there are related industries including a malting house, local farmers growing grain and the Skagit Valley College brew program and its Cardinal brewery. Chuckanut Brewery’s South Nut Tap Room is situated in the hub of these beer related businesses in the Port of Skagit at 11937 Higgins Airport Way, Burlington, WA and Chuckanut has some special events organized to highlight Brewing in Skagit Valley.

For the inaugural celebrations Chuckanut will offer free tours on Sunday, April 1 at both 1 and 3 pm. Learn how Chuckanut makes its award-winning beers and ask the questions you’ve wondered about when you drink craft beer. On April 4, Wednesday at 5:30 South Nut will host a Women in Beer Game Night. Play bingo, trivia or other games with some of the women in beer in Skagit County. Win schwag from the breweries that have women involved in their businesses and hear directly from them about their breweries and beers. Hillbilly Gyros Food Truck will be on site. Chuckanut will also be taking part in the kick off event for the Farm to Pint Week held at Skagit Valley Malting on March 31, funds will go to Viva Farms. This festival will pair food from Skagit restaurants with beer made with Skagit Valley Malt. Chuckanut will be sampling the new Skagit Harvest Ale. The week culminates with Skagit Valley Malting festival at Farmstrong Brewery, April 7.

Celebrating Skagit Beer coincides with the Tulip Festival in Skagit starting April 1. There’s lots to celebrate about Skagit Valley, most of all the great craft beer and related products coming out of one of the prettiest places on earth!
