Washington Brewers Guild Cask Festival returns March 24th. Tickets on sale now.

Press Release

The Washington Brewers Guild will host its annual Washington Cask Beer Festival on Saturday, March 24th at Seattle Center's Exhibition Hall. The Cask Festival has gained enormous popularity and a reputation as one of the most anticipated beer festivals of its kind. This year the event will showcase 100+ cask-conditioned beers masterfully brewed by 37 Washington breweries.

The Cask Festival will host two sessions, the first session from Noon to 4pm with a second session from 5:30pm to 9:30pm on Saturday, March 24th. Admission is $40 in advance or $45 at the door. Separate tickets are required for each session and the afternoon session typically sells out. Admission includes a commemorative tasting cup and up to 15 sample tastes. Tickets are available online at washingtonbrewersguild.org. Designated driver tickets are just $5 and include free soda and water. This is a 21 and over only event.

The Cask Festival was created when a group of Washington brewers convened more than a decade ago with a goal of introducing cask-conditioned beer to local consumers who were gradually warming to the idea of drinking craft beer. To stay true to the spirit of “real ale” the brewers are required to condition the beer naturally without artificially introducing CO2. The beer is poured by gravity or by using a traditional beer engine and served at cellar temperature. The result is smooth beer with creamy head and pronounced flavors and aromas. Today there are hundreds of devoted Cask Festival fans who are known to be some of the most discerning beer critics. Their high expectations fuel the brewers’ creativity, inspiring them to brew innovative beers for this event every year.

In addition to the wide variety of specialty cask beers the event will feature the Herbert’s Legendary Cask Festival Ale, a special collaboration beer brewed in honor of the late Bert Grant, a legendary Washington beer brewing iconEach year a different host brewery invites fellow Washington brewers to brew the beer based on the recipe that has been passed on from one host brewery to the next. This year’s Herbert’s Ale was  brewed at Mac & Jack's Brewery in Redmond.
