Press Release

Boise, ID, ... Boise Brewing announces the return of Hoptober Freshtival, Idaho’s largest fresh hop beer festival happening on Saturday, September 30, 2017. The brewery will be hosting a block party-style festival on the street in front of their building as well as adjoining 6th street. On tap will be 60+ different beers from 30+ different breweries, with a focus on seasonal fresh-hopped beers. Participants can play festival games and enjoy food from local food trucks while sipping beers and rubbing elbows with the hop farmers that make the beer possible.

Tickets cost $35 at the door, or can be purchased in advance for discounted prices at http://www.HoptoberFreshtival.com. Hoptober Freshtival is offering discounted “Early Bird” tickets in the months leading up to the event. Participants will receive a commemorative sample cup along with 10 drink tickets they can use to sample the fresh hopped and seasonal brews. There will also be additional tickets available for purchase at the event. The festival will run from noon to 8:00 PM. It is a 21 and over event.

“Hoptober Freshtival is an awesome celebration of craft beer and fresh hops! Brewers from all over the country have been invited to join us downtown Boise for the event” says event coordinator Sheila Francis. “While the event focuses on fresh hop beers, we will have a great selection of other beers so there will be something for everyone to enjoy! Hops are a unique agricultural product and Western Idaho is the prime location for growing hops. In addition to a flourishing craft beer industry, Idaho’s hop industry is growing and expanding. We’re all excited for the addition of Mill 95, a hop processing facility, to continue to grow Idaho’s contribution to the beer world.”

The festival focuses on specialty “once a year” fresh hop beers. The beer style involves harvesting whole cone hops straight from the farm and then using them immediately in the brewing process. Many of local breweries actually drive directly out to the hop farms and help harvest the hops for their brew. Idaho is one of the top hop-producing states in the country which allows brewers easy access to fresh, locally grown hops for their beers. The festival has grown from 25 to over 30 breweries this year, bringing in more unique offerings from local and regional breweries for guests to sample.
