Press Release

SEATTLE ... The newly formed South Seattle Brewery Coalition (SSBC) is encouraging visitors and locals alike to “be disloyal” with the help of a new map highlighting South Seattle’s vibrant craft beer scene. Featuring 14 distinctive breweries – offering the city’s most diverse range of beer from cask to gluten free and everything in between – the new map recommends three easy-to-navigate routes through the historic brewing district’s unique territory. Coinciding with Washington Beer Commission’s Brewery Open House, SSBC maps will be available for pickup at all participating breweries beginning Saturday, February 25.

Birthplace of Seattle Brewing & Malting Company and Rainier Beer, some of the city's first breweries long called the area home, and today, the 14 breweries now residing in South Seattle are dedicated bringing the area back to its former brewing glory, together.

“One of the things that makes the Seattle beer community so incredible is a dedication to supporting one another,” said Dan Armerding, tasting room lead at Two Beers Brewing Co. “South Seattle offers something for everyone, and our goal is to spread the love and give you an excuse to drink someone else’s beer.”

Broken out into three suggested routes – making it easy for craft beer lovers to plan their own tour – breweries featured on the map include:

Ghostfish Brewing Co.
Seapine Brewing Co.
Schooner Exact Brewing Co.
Two Beers Brewing Co.

Georgetown Brewing
Elysian Brewing
Machine House Brewing
Lowercase Brewing
Jellyfish Brewing Co.
Counterbalance Brewing Co.
Tin Dog Brewing Co.

Perihelion Brewery
Flying Lion Brewing
NW Peaks Brewing

The map and accompanying poster also feature important information about each brewery, including their address, phone number, website and available amenities.  Guests are encouraged to visit a brewery’s individual website, or call ahead for up-to-date taproom hours and additional information.
