Burnaby B.C. ...
Burnaby's Steamworks Brewing Co. is ramping up their Barrel Aged Series with two new releases for the fall: The 2017 vintage of their Barrel Aged Imperial Stout as well as brand new 2017 Barrel Aged "Scarlet" Red Rye Ale.
2017 marks the second release for the Imperial Stout. Aged in Bourbon Barrels, it pours near black with a thick tan head. Aromas of vanilla and oak give way to robust flavours of bourbon and chocolate.
Scarlet on the other hand, is a vibrant red barley wine, carefully aged in Woodford Reserve Rye Barrels. Boasting flavours of dark fruit & oak with a warming sweetness on the finish, it's a robust beer to be enjoyed now or cellared for later.
Both 650ml bottles are available now in extremely limited quantities at the Steamworks gastown LRS and Brewery and Taproom - 3845 William St in Burnaby. The taproom also has a very limited number of kegs of both beers and will be serving glasses until the kegs are tapped. Bottles will be making their way on to select private liquor stores later this week.
