Events: Seattle: Naked City Brewery and Taproom announces events for December 2016

It's come to our attention, from Greenwood's Naked City Brewery and Taproom, they aren't done with November and plan on making December memorable. Below are some events of interest. Naked City Brewery and Taproom is located at 8564 Greenwood Avenue North in Seattle's Greenwood neighborhood.

November 28th from 6pm - Bendy Brewski Yoga


In times like these, yoga and beer is just what the guru ordered. Instructor Heidi Welch leads the practice in the Screening Room on the second and fourth Mondays of the month, at 6pm. Classes are $25, and include a pint of beer after Namaste.

November 29th from 7pm - In Mary's Arms: Christmas With Baroque Women Composers

Talented soprano Natalie Ingrisano and the Early Music Underground House Band present an intimate and profound program of rarely-heard motets and cantatas for voice, strings, and organ by 17th century women composers including Antonia Bembo, Isabella Leonarda, Maria Peruchona, and Chiara Margarita Cozzolani.

December 1st from 6pm - Tree Lighting w/Brew Santa & Bing Release Party

Naked City Brewery is thrilled to announce the return of its holiday classic, Bing Spiced Cherry Ale, to be tapped at the Greenwood brewpub’s family-friendly Christmas tree lighting party with Brew Santa on Thursday, December 1st. 

Get your picture taken with Brew Santa on the holiday brew deck! Check out the majestic 25' Christmas tree glittering in the Walrus Beer Garden, and the 15,000 holiday lights. Bing Spiced Cherry Ale will be on tap.The tree lighting takes place around 6pm. All ages are welcome.

Aged on a blend of Washington Bing and Tart Montmorency cherries, cinnamon, and cloves, Naked City Bing is Christmas in a glass. The holiday hit’s base beer is the Knowledge, an English-style strong old ale brewed with dark malts and balanced with hops. The Knowledge is its own reward, but Bing sweetens the deal.

December 4th from 7pm - Kortney's (Stand-Up Style) Comedy Show
This month's headliner is Cory Michaelis, who was a finalist in the Seattle International Comedy Competition and has been featured on The 206 on NBC. He recently gave up teaching to become a touring comedian, and produces a successful monthly comedy show.

The show will also feature Monica Nevi. She started her career in Seattle, and currently lives in Los Angeles. Monica is one of the co-hosts of the Hug Life Podcast.

(Stand-Up Style) is a professional showcase hosted by Kortney Shane Williams, who has opened for David Alan Grier, Dave Chappelle, and regularly opens for Hannibal Buress. He's appeared on Comedy Time, Fox's Laughs TV, and The 206 on NBC.

December 6th from 7pm - Washington Beer: A Heady History of Evergreen State Brewing

Mike Rizzo from the weekly podcast Northwest Brew Talk joins us for a book discussion and signing delving into the brewing history of Washington in his historical recollection, Washington Beer: A Heady History of Evergreen State Brewing. Covering everything from the states first hops planted by Joseph Meeker in 1865 to Yakima Brewing and Malting Company as the first brewpub in the country since Prohibition in 1982, and the nearly three hundred breweries and brewpubs of today, Rizzos book is thorough and intriguing. Come by, enjoy food and drink for purchase, and take in a bit of hoppy history with us.

December 9th from 6pm - PhinneyWood Art Walk - Sky Gerspacher Gallery Opening

It's the second Friday of the month, which means Art Up & Chow Down in PhinneyWood. And in the Naked City it means the opening of another art installment on our north wall. This month features lovely paintings of fantastical families of snowpeople by a rad local artist, Sky Gerspacher.
December 11th from 7pm - SHRIEK: A Women of Horror Film Class

This month, we'll watch and discuss Black Christmas (1974), one of the earliest North American slasher movies, starring Margot Kidder and Olivia Hussey, directed by Bob Clarke.

December 15th from 6pm - Vinyl Me Please presents THE SPINS
If you haven't already caught on, we've been hosting national vinyl listening events every month we call THE SPINS, celebrating our Record of the Month releases at some of our members' favorite bars and venues! We laugh, we spin vinyl, we drink, we make memories, and we take the membership experience into the real world. If we can say so, we think it's pretty neat. This month, we're featuring an album TBA.
December 15th from 6:30pm - Sketch Pistols

Sketch Pistols is Seattle’s longest running sketch-book drawing and socialization event. Established in 2003, Sketch Pistols has provided a meeting place for artists to create and share their passion for art and ideas. Our members include cartoonists, illustrators and reportage artists of every variety. December 18th from 7pm - Abigail Lennox and The Beggar Boys' Christmas Cèilidh
Warm up your holiday season with a traditional holiday party, or Cèilidh, as The Beggar Boys bring Christmas music from Ireland, Scotland, and Wales to Naked City Brewery. The ethereal vocals of singer Abigail Lennox blend with fiddles, whistle, and guitar to create the Beggar Boys' signature blend of traditional songs and tunes and powerful originals, called "lush and revealing" by the Boston Globe. This festive program will also feature Larry Young's dramatic storytelling and live Irish step dancing performed by students from Seattle's Tara Academy of Irish Dance. Admission is $20.
