EUGENE, Ore.—Among many of the passions uniting the culture of Ninkasi Brewing Company is its love of the outdoors. Established in 2006 by Jamie Floyd and Nikos Ridge, the Oregon-based brewery operates with a single core purpose: to “Perpetuate Better Living.” Now, the brewery takes that mantra one step further with the introduction of Team Total Domination, a lineup of professional athletes and adventurers who excel in outdoor activities and have an appreciation for craft beer.
“It was only natural that as an extension of our passions here at the brewery, we would establish a team of all-stars who celebrate the outdoors and also happen to enjoy a delicious beer at the end of the day,” says Nikos Ridge, Ninkasi CEO, co-founder and amateur kayaker, mountain biker, and paraglider. “Honestly, there is no time that a beer tastes better than at the end of an epic outdoor adventure doing something you love.”
Under the brewery’s core purpose its employees have found one of the best way to lead a balanced life is pairing craft beer with outdoor activities. Each weekend many of its employees can be found hiking, trail running, mountain biking, kayaking, surfing, or hanging out on the company rock climbing wall. “We share many of the same interests as our Team Total Domination members,” says Ridge. “I’m excited to continue to be inspired by this group and, in-turn, inspire our fans to get out there and explore!”
Andrew Wheating - Track Star, 2x Olympian
Based in the brewery’s hometown of Eugene, Oregon, Andrew Wheating is a pride of the city and quite the Instagram personality. Entering the world-stage for running at the age of 20, Wheating has competed twice at the Olympic level for the 800m in 2008 (Beijing) and 1500m in 2012 (London).
“Some companies display a passion for the craft behind the products they create. They show a love for what they do and not for the financial earnings. Ninkasi is one of those companies.”
Bryon Dorr - Adventure Photographer, Overlander
Living a life of adventure, Bryon Dorr inspires others to get outside through his brand Exploring Elements. Operating from his 4-wheeled “overland adventuremobile” Dorr travels the world testing gear, documenting and sharing new experiences.
"Ninkasi makes truly exceptional beers, has amazing employees, believes in protecting the environment and is a company that continues to support enthusiast artists, athletes and philanthropists.”

“Ninkasi, has been supporting World Kayak for years in a variety of ways; I have been stoked to see the true love of all things fun from the Ninkasi crew. Keep your eyes open for all sorts of fun action from the sky and the river.”
David Laney - Ultrarunner, Running Coach
Residing in Ashland, Oregon, David Laney puts serious miles on his legs. Ranking 3rd at the 2015 Ultra Trail du Mont Blanc 105 Mile and 8th at Western States 100 mile, Laney is a beast on the trail. When he’s not tearing it up, he’s teaching others how to improve their distance skills.
“Like me, I like working with companies that are born and raised in Oregon; it’s a special place, and its virtues are often reflected by the companies that have their roots here.”
Mary Rand - Professional Snowboarder, Snowboarding Coach
On the mountain or working on her skateboarding skills, Mary Rand of Index, Washington, seriously knows her way around a board. Named the Transworld Snowboarder 2016 Reader’s Choice and 2015 Rookie of the Year, Rand embodies the pure joy of a day on the mountain.
“Living in/around Seattle, Washington for the last few years I have caught the Northwest pride bug; thus making me feel even more excited to be a part of an originally grown, northwest company. And of course, I love delicious beer, and sharing delicious beer with friends.”
Matt & Agnes Hage - Outdoor Photographers, Backpackers
Hailing from Anchorage, Alaska, and working from the road, tent, or plane, husband-wife duo Matt and Agnes Hage never turn down the opportunity of a new adventure. With a client list of Montbell, Black Diamond, Patagonia, and Backpacker Magazine among others, these two beautifully share their adventures with the world.
“Ninkasi makes sure we’re well stocked with excellent craft beer for our projects. After a long day of shooting in the mountains or a desert canyon, you bet our crew really enjoys that.”
Rush Sturges - Pro Kayaker, Producer & Filmmaker
White Salmon, Washington may be the place he calls home, but any given week, Rush Sturges can be found conquering the next big waterfall or descent. Coveting awards like OUTSIDE’s Adventurer of the Year or 20 Greatest Athletes Now, Sturges also finds time to pair his love for water with a passion for filmmaking. His latest directorial and producing work, “Chasing Niagara,” debuted July and has quickly gained popularity among the kayaking community and thrill seekers.
"I can't say enough good things about Ninkasi. Beer, people, conservation efforts, art, music etc. For me Ninkasi is more than just a beer sponsor, it's a lifestyle. I'm honored to be on the Team!"
