Gig Harbor, WA, January 7, 2016 – On the heels of announcing the expansion of their brewing operations to the historic Heidelberg Brewery in Tacoma, 7 Seas Brewing just released the first of three seasonal beers that will be offered in 2016. Starting January 7, 2016 Red Rye Lager will be available at 7 Seas Tap Room in Gig Harbor and at various establishments throughout the state of Washington on draft.
Red Rye Lager is the creation of 7 Seas Brewing’s own JD McQueen. Fermented with house Lager yeast, this beer displays a deep burgundy color and frothy white head. Malt profile includes British caramel rye malt, dark crystal, and French Kiln Amber, along with NW pale ale malt as its foundation. In the European Lager tradition, McQueen hand-selected a brilliant blend of noble hops including; German Hersbrucker and Czech Saaz for a spicy, earthy hop note. The flavor is extremely smooth, yet bold in toffee and toasty malt notes.
“7 Seas Brewing is committed to cultivating a creative workplace for its team, and as part of that effort, we offer our staff a chance to develop their own beer, from inception to brew,” stated Mike Runion 7 Seas Co-Owner. “Red Rye Lager was received so well, it was promoted to become our new spring seasonal.”
Red Rye Lager will be available on tap through April of 2016. Ask for this smooth, subtle, 5.4% ABV lager at the 7 Seas Tap Room or request it at your local bar, pub, or restaurant throughout Washington State.
