SEATTLE ... – Seattle-based Sound Excursions, curators of food, beverage and adventure-driven experiences for individuals, corporations and private groups, has just launched its S.E. Productions arm. The new arm will oversee production of large scale festivals and events. Its inaugural SE Productions event, Bacon Eggs & Kegs, is co-produced with CenturyLink Field and will take place on August 22 in the North Plaza of CenturyLink Field.

Sound Excursions was created in May 2014 by Sam Minkoff and Cassie Hendrickson - four year veterans of LivingSocial Adventures, Sam being the original founder of its Pacific Northwest division. While with LivingSocial, Sam and Cassie also executed seven-city tours of large scale festivals. The Seattle market had generally demonstrated strong sales, so when LivingSocial closed its Adventures branch in 2013, Sam and Cassie formed their own company to capitalize on their vast experience and local vendor relationships.

The resulting company’s intimate events combine a guided, experiential activity with all-star food and drink and, in many cases, luxury coach transportation. Events to date have ranged from individual day trips or getaways on sale to the general public, such as Leavenworth River Tubing + Beer Garden Cookout or The Ultimate Whistler Weekend, to corporate and private events (clients include Twitter, AllRecipes.com and Microsoft), and now extend to festival production.

“Individuals, and millennials in particular, recognize now more than ever the benefit of spending their money on experiences and not ‘things,’” said Sam Minkoff, president and co-founder of Sound Excursions. “There’s no better feeling than witnessing the power and magic that comes from bringing community together through shared experience – whether that takes place on one of our local excursions, at one of our festivals, or at a private event – the impact remains the same.”

After a trial run with CenturyLink Field helping to market a recent Kenny Chesney concert, as well as co-producing a pre-concert party with 100.7 The Wolf, the CenturyLink events team was sold.

Bacon Eggs + Kegs is the first co-produced event, and will include enticing experiences well beyond, well, bacon, eggs and kegs. Josh Henderson’s restaurant group, Huxley Wallace Collective, will offer a sneak peak of Great State Burger (scheduled to open in this fall) during the event.  The event will also be packed with larger-than-life lawn games, dueling pianos, a chalk artist, and more.

I know we’ll all be in good company and that the event will be well-executed.”
