PORTLAND, Ore. ... – Ecliptic Brewing, a craft brewery from Oregon beer icon John Harris located in Portland’s Mississippi-area, installed two new fermentation tanks, doubling the brewery’s total production capacity.
“We are thrilled to be adding two new fermentation tanks to the brewery,” said owner and brewmaster John Harris. “This addition will greatly impact the production of our craft beers and significantly grow the reach and impact of Ecliptic.”
This is the first brewery expansion for Ecliptic Brewing, which opened in October 2013. The two new fermentation tanks join a third tank installed at the brewery in early April, bringing the brewery’s total production capacity to 5,000 barrels per year. Last year, Ecliptic produced a total of 1,300 barrels and is on track to double that in 2015.
Ecliptic Brewing is located at 825 N Cook St. For more information about Ecliptic events, beers or the brewery, please call 503.265.9002 or visit eclipticbrewing.com.
About Ecliptic Brewing
Ecliptic Brewing is a venture from John Harris, an Oregon beer icon whose background is steeped in the state’s rich craft brewing history. The name Ecliptic unites Harris’ two passions: brewing and astronomy, and as such, the brewery celebrates the Earth’s yearly journey around the sun through both its beer and restaurant menus. Executive chef Michael Molitor rotates his seasonally inspired menu every six weeks in accordance with the old world calendar. Harris’ signature beers include Spica Pilsner, Procyon Pale Ale, Phobos Extra Single Hop Red Ale and Orbiter IPA. In 2014, Ecliptic Brewing was voted best brewpub by Northwest Brewing News readers, and the brewery’s Filament Winter IPA was named favorited winter ale by Oregon Beer Growler.
