Brewery News: OR: Portland: Laurelwood Brewing announces expansion into British Columbia, Canada.

Press Release

Portland, OR – The city’s original certified organic brewery, Laurelwood Brewing Co., is teaming up with Beerthirst to distribute its award-winning beers throughout Canada in mid-May 2015. The new expansion will bring Laurelwood’s name to specialty beer and liquor stores in Alberta and British Columbia to start, and eventually to other Canadian provinces.

Beerthirst, an Independent Agent of quality craft beer, bases their business on tasting beers from around the world and bringing the best ones back home to Canada.

“Laurelwood brings the addition of outstanding brews from Portland closer to our doorsteps in Canada, and this partnership solidifies our relationship with the motherland of craft beer,” says Jason Lehr, Beerthirst’s Territory Manager for Vancouver East and Tri-cities. “Laurelwood stands for family, community, good times, and great beers.”

Both Laurelwood Brewing Co. and Beerthirst are excited to give Canadian craft beer drinkers easy access to brews like Workhorse IPA, Free Range Red, and the brewery’s sought-after seasonal beers.

“They’re the go-to beers in the Pacific Northwest!” says Norm Eng, CEO of Beerthirst. “To have Laurelwood’s great brew line-up get into the hands of beer lovers across the nation will greatly improve the beer landscape here in quality, consistency, tastiness, and IBU’s."

Along with Canada, Laurelwood Brewing Co. has expanded into the greater Philadelphia, Pennsylvania area, as well as Tokyo, Japan in 2015 alone. The local brewery is looking forward to sharing a slice of Portland’s craft beer scene with all parts of the world.
