|Seattle, WA ... - Pilsners are back! The beer style your dad, and probably his dad, so enjoyed is receiving new attention from craft brewers and craft beer lovers all over the region.|
And, with the release of Bill'sner Pils, Hale's Ales Brewery is excited to be part of the Northwest resurgence of this old world beer style, this time locally made and fresh!
Hale's Bill'sner Pils is named after a long time Hale's employee, Bill Preib, who, along with other Hale's crew members, developed a growing appreciation for the crisp, cool taste of a pilsner, especially as an alternative to the ubiquitous strong and assertively hopped India Pale Ales so prevalent in the NW craft beer scene. "Strike that from the bucket list," said Preib, "...a beer with my name on it. If only mom could see me now!"

Pilsner is a new direction for Hale's, the longest running independently owned brewery in the Northwest with a 32 year history of brewing primarily English style ales.

some pilsner malt imported from Heidelberg, Germany.
Hale's Bill'sner Pils is brewed using an imported pilsner malt produced by Best Malts in Heidelberg, Germany. Hale's is the only brewery in the region using this particular malt. "We experimented with many different malts," said Hale's head brewer Lincoln Zmolek, "but this one gave us the clean, flavorful pils we were looking for."
Bill'sner Pils will be released in March in both kegs and 22 oz. bottles. Hale's will brew this new beer throughout most of the summer. Look for Bill'sner Pils at your favorite pub or bottle shop!
