Brewery News: CA: San Marcos: Port Brewing responds after winning 2 medals at this year's Great American Beer Festival

San Marcos, CA, -- The Port Brewing Company returned to San Marcos, CA from this year’s Great American Beer Festival® in Denver having won two medals in this year’s competition.

Shark Attack, Port Brewing’s Double Red Ale, took home bronze in the Imperial Red category. This is the 5th medal the Shark Attack recipe has won at The Great American Beer Festival. The first coming in 2004, when Tomme Arthur was the Head Brewer at Pizza Port Solana Beach. Shark Attack also recently scored a gold medal and the “Best of Show” award at the 2014 San Diego International Beer Festival.

Port Brewing’s Hop 15 took home a silver medal and continues to be one of the most decorated beers for the brand. This medal marked the 4thtime Hop 15 has placed in the Imperial IPA Category at GABF, in addition to a 2014 World Beer Cup® award in the Imperial or Double IPA category as well as two past Alpha King trophy’s, an annual IPA competition held during the Great American Beer Festival®.
