Alehouse Event: WA: Seattle: North Sound Gin barrel-aged Pale Ale release & Reuben's Brews dinner at The Sixgil

Thursday (October 30th) and Monday (November 10th), The Sixgill will be hosting two exciting events.

Starting Thursday, October 30th, owners Rick Weersing and Ellen Kelly release an exclusive barrel-aged Pale Ale. Aged in Gin barrels, the Pale Ale from North Sound Brewing is a collaboration between The Sixgill, the brewery, and Captive Spirits. The party starts at 6:30 and both Captive Spirits and North Sound will be in attendance.

On Monday, November 10th, The Sixgill is happy to host Ballard's Reuben's Brews for dinner. Titled "English Supper with Reuben's Brewing", this $80 per person event will feature menu items like:
  • Terrine, house jam & watercress paired with Reuben's Cream Ale
  • Fall Squash Soup with acron & delicata squash, pumpkin seed oil & pumpkin seeds paired with Reuben's Imperial Pumpkin Ale
  • Mushrooms on Toast with locally foraged mushrooms, rye toast, egg yolk & horseradish paired with Reuben's Crikey India Pale Ale
  • Ox Tongue with roasted ox tongue, carrot puree, parsley sauce paired with Reuben's Russian Imperial Stout
  • Lamb with roasted leg of lamb, minted peas, & "Bubble & Squeak" paired with Reuben's Roasted Rye
  • Bread and Butter Pudding with baked bread pudding, golden raisins & butterscotch paired with Reuben's American Rye

Ben Capdevielle is a third-generation distiller who grew to appreciate the art of distillation at the early age of twenty. After twelve years of bartending, fishing & an all-around life-enjoying schedule, Ben & business partner Todd Leabman came together with a solid plan for Captive Spirits. 

Creating a legacy, making quality & consistent products for gin-lovers & straight up enjoying the game is what Captive Spirits is all about.

We are a small, family owned and operated brewery located in Ballard in Seattle, WA. We have a cozy taproom open Thursday through Sunday where you can meet with friends, sample and learn about our beers, and pick up a growler to enjoy elsewhere.  As a small, craft brewery operating on an artisan scale, we can’t guarantee broad distribution of our seasonal brews.
