Bremerton, WA - September 4, 2014 - The Kitsap Fire Fighters Benevolent Fund (KFFBF) is, once again, teamed up with Cloverleaf Sports Bar & Grill and Silver City Brewery to raise money for their Benevolent Fund. The Cloverleaf will host the Kitsap Oktoberfest for the 2nd year, which had been held at various locations in the past, including Silver City Brewery & Silver City Restaurant.
The Kitsap Oktoberfest will be held at the Cloverleaf Sports Bar & Grill and outdoors in their parking lot Saturday September 20, 2014 from 2pm till 6pm. The Oktoberfest will feature authentic German cuisine, games, raffle prizes, benefit auction & of course local brewed beers by Silver City Brewery, including Oktoberfest, Ridgetop Red, & Saint Florian IPA. Fund raising activities included a benefit raffle, auction, & through the sale of commemorative glassware.
Additionally, Silver City Restaurant will be holding an exclusive VIP member only Oktoberfest on Friday September 19th from 2-5 pm. There will be live music, authentic German cuisine, a raffle and of course our featured Oktoberfest beer along with all of our year round beers. You may pick up your commemorative glassware at the restaurant the 17th through the 19th from 3:30 pm to 5:30 pm. Anyone who buys the glassware will receive $1.00 off any beer of their choice. All proceeds benefit the Kitsap Fire Fighter Benevolent fund.
John Tollefson Vice President of the KFFBF, had this to say about the event "The Cloverleaf & Silver City are huge contributors to the Benevolent Fun. These two local businesses are essential partners to our efforts to raise money to support our mission. The Annual Oktoberfest celebration brings in nearly $8,000 annually." Kyle Welling, owner of the Cloverleaf Sports Bar & grill, added "We are excited to host the Kitsap Oktoberfest again this year. We think attendees enjoyed the occasion, helping give back to their community, as well as the easy accessibility that the location provides."
At the Oktoberfest, Scott Houmes, Silver City Brewery owner, will present the 2014 year to date check from proceeds from the sales of Silver City Saint Florian IPA. Saint Florian, the patron saint of firefighters, the namesake of Silver City's northwest IPA was designed to raise money for Washington State Council of Fire Fighters Benevolent Funds. Part of the proceeds from each bottle and keg of Saint Florian IPA sold goes directly to the Benevolent Fund where the beer is purchased in the region. Scott Houmes said, "We are very proud to grow our long-standing relationship with Fire Fighters and the Benevolent Association and our annual Oktoberfest was the perfect setting to present this year's check."
This year's event will feature a benefit auction to help raise funds for one of the KFFBF's biggest fundraisers of the year, Coats for Kids. In 2002, Operation Warm was founded to counter one of the most unfathomable hardships of childhood poverty; the lack of adequate winter clothing. Operation Warm's mission is most effectively executed in collaboration with organizations serving impoverished children and their families. The provision of brand new winter coats affords unparalleled opportunity to leverage critical outcomes important to transitioning families to financial independence. Through community-based partnerships Operation Warm provides families with brand new winter coats for their children.
*Operation Warm addresses an immediate and critical need for warm coats;
*Our coats are leveraged to go beyond warmth and strengthen relationships between our partners and their communities by facilitating positive outcomes that aid in the breakdown of dependence on long-term assistance.
*Through our work, Operation Warm advocates for awareness of the impact of poverty on families and communities, and demonstrates how even one person can make a positive difference in the life of a child. Providing the gift of warmth to children in each community they protect, Fire Fighters have become the heroes on the frontlines of Operations Warm's mission.
Inspire Hope. Empower Children. Join the movement.
The Kitsap Fire Fighters Benevolent Fund is proud to partner with local businesses such as Silver City Brewery and the Cloverleaf Sports Bar & Grill to help raise funds to provide support to the citizens and fire fighters of Kitsap County.

Silver City Saint Florian IPA
Saint Florian, the Patron Saint of Firefighters, is now a Northwest IPA . A portion of the sale of each bottle and keg of Saint Florian IPA goes to a Washington State Council of Firefighters benevolent fund. Silver City Brewery has a long-standing partnership and tradition of working with our local fire fighters. Saint Florian IPA, formerly Indianola IPA, uses Washington-grown Cascade & Columbus hops that are boldly citrus, floral and piney. What better way to enjoy a truly local handcrafted IPA then knowing you are supporting those that keep us safe. "Cheers to you! And, cheers to fire fighters everywhere!"
