This time around I want to direct your attention to your local Government liquor store to grab a bottle of Granville Island Jack Daniel’s barrel-aged Barley Wine and Chocolate Imperial Stout.
Described by the brewery as “… loaded with NZ Motueka hops – which balance the beer’s sweet malt character and dried fruit flavours; while allowing the oak, vanilla and alcohol characteristics of the barrels to shine through.”, this year’s Barley Wine is sure to hit the spot on New Year’s Day.
But Granville Island’s head brewer Vern wasn’t satisfied with releasing one barrel-aged beer. Which is why he chose to brew one last batch of Imperial Chocolate Stout. But unlike previous years, this last release was aged in Jack Daniel’s barrels.
For those keep track, that’s two (2) releases from Granville Island, brewed in Jack Daniel’s barrels.
Look for bottles of Granville Island barrel-aged Barley Wine & Imperial Chocolate Stout at liquor stores throughout the province.
