Beer Release: WA: Coming Soon … Silver City Old Scrooge, aged in Heaven Hill’s Kentucky bourbon barrels.

This coming Friday, November 1st, Silver City is releasing their limited-edition Old Scrooge. You might wonder why this beer, known as a seasonal release is limited. This limited edition is in fact Old Scrooge, aged in Bourbon from Heaven Hills.

Brewery Description

This rich, amber strong ale was aged for several months in a Heaven Hills Kentucky Bourbon barrel. The beer was transferred from fermenter to a used bourbon barrel and allowed to undergo a secondary fermentation. During this extended contact with the charred oak interior of the barrel, the beer took on a very distinct and pleasingly warm bourbon character. A vanilla-like oak note adds a mellow richness as well. Added to the already flavorful Old Scrooge, these flavors compliment each other in a perfect harmony for a very unique and wonderful drinking experience.

8.5% ABV

Starting this Friday, look for bottles of Bourbon Barrel Old Scrooge at the Silver City brewery's tasting room. As this is a limited release, you had better get there sooner than later.
