Ready for Oregon Beer Month? Yeah, me neither. Then again we are still recovering from Seattle Beer Week and admittedly skipped Vancouver Beer Week & Portland Beer Week all together.
Then again if there is one celebration we can agree to it’s Oregon Beer Month. So what better way to kick things off then with some theater.
This July 5th you are asked to visit McMenamins Mission Theater (off 1624 Northwest Gilsan Street) for the premiere of My First Oregon Brewers Festival.
Produced by OBF Founder Art Larrence this independent film celebrates the Oregon Beer Festival and what is means to those who attend every year.
Current schedule has the doors opening at 6 PM, followed by a panel discussion with …
… OBF director & founder Art Larrance (Portland Brewing back then, now with Cascade Brewing); co-founders Kurt & Rob Widmer of Widmer Brothers Brewing Co; Karl Ockert, former brewmaster at BridgePort Brewing–one of the other co-founding breweries–and current Technical Director for the Master Brewers Association of the Americas; and Fred Eckhardt, beer writer who reported on the festival in its earliest days.
Of course this wouldn’t be a panel without some moderating, which is where Portland’s own Lisa "The Beer Goddess" Morrison, host of Beer O'Clock radio and longtime beer writer; will be hosting.
The event will take place on Thursday, July 5 at McMenamins Mission Theater, 1624 Northwest Glisan St in Portland. Doors open at 6 pm. Panel begins at 7 pm. Movie begins at 7:45 pm. This is a 21+ only event and there is no cover charge. Seating is available on a first-come, first-served basis and is limited to 300 people. There will be beers available by McMenamins, along with guest taps from Widmer, Cascade and BridgePort.
