Who here remembers a certain pub on lower Burnside, just a few blocks from Green Dragon, Cascade Barrel House and Burnside Brewing? Ok, so The Guild Public House is still around but its previous owner isn’t. Sad as it is, but Jesse Cornett left the publican business last year.

With this bit of history Jesse is happy to announce he is returning to his roots, in public office. Well, sort of.

Recent emails I’ve written have talked more about Oregon beer than Oregon politics, but of course there has been some politics intertwined.  As my tenure at The Guild wrapped up, it should come as no surprise that the pendulum swung back the other way – and I’m proud to be working with several important candidates and issues this year. Of course it seems that no email from me would be complete without a tie in back to beer.

One race I’m particularly proud to be involved with at the volunteer level is that of Jeff Reardon.  Jeff is running for the Oregon House.  Jeff is a Vietnam Veteran, a retiring teacher, a former longtime school board member, and a heck of a good guy.  He’s running against an entrenched incumbent in the Primary Election and needs our help.  Yesterday, Jeff announced that he received the endorsements of ten sitting legislators, highlighting that he has the momentum in this race. Read more about Jeff here.

So what does this mean for those who remember Jesse and want to lend a hand? The answer is simple.  Show up and donate.

On Monday April 23rd, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM Jesse is hosting a fund raiser for Jess Reardon, with special guest State Senator Jackie Dingfelder. The location in question, to those that know Jesse, seems appropriate. Located on 1810 SE 10th Avenue, The Commons Brewery will be hosting the event.

Donations are encouraged during this event. So lend a hand to support Jesse’s other love, politics.

RSVP by responding to this email over on Facebook.  While I hope to see you there, if you can’t make it, will you consider a contribution?

Cheers
