Charity Preview: WA: Benefit for Eugene Koptin at Brouwer’s Cafe 2/21

Cancer kills! There is no poetic, Disney-themed, happy way of saying what Cancer does. It kills those infected. It kills those who surround the victims. And it forever reminds you that humanity is finite.

Cancer has touched this writer on multiple levels. Which is why I am happy to announce another benefit to raise money towards a cure for this unforgiving, disease.

Starting on February 21st Brouwer’s Cafe is hosting a fund raiser to benefit one it’s own, Eugene Koptin. Who is Eugene Koptin?

… A few months back Eugene Koptin, our barback, was diagnosed with Leukemia and has been locked in battle with it ever since. He is only 22 years old. For those of you that met him you know what a character he was, so full of life. He has spent most of the past months, since the diagnosis, in the hospital or not far from it.

Which brings us back to you. What can you do to help out Eugene?

The answer is simple, show up and do what you would do any other night, support your bartender. Purchase a pint (from a select list), a button, or bid on several items in a silent auction. In the end it all helps Eugene pay off some of his medical expenses.

Stop reading and PLAN for next Tuesday to show your support for an employee of Brouwer’s Cafe and a man who needs our help!
