Astoria, OR – Short, sweet, and to the point; it’s back. Most of those that live along the Columbia River can attest to what Fort George Brewery (and Public House) means to them. But for those that reside either in Washington or even in Portland, getting your hands on a draft anything from ‘George is tricky.

Thankfully the brewery has been expanding into Portland more regularly which is why we are happy to announce the return of Roscoe India Pale Ale.

… Roscoe IPA taps into wild rice grown in Oregon.  Back by popular demand, we’re releasing our second batch on Friday, August 12^th.  It’s named after Peter Roscoe, Astoria City Councilor, restaurateur, and advocate of locally grown wild rice.  With both ecological and economic benefits, there’s potential for farmers to construct paddies on underutilized lands to grow rice.  Proponents say native plants thrive around these paddies, which is great for wildlife.

Beer Geek Information

Roscoe IPA consists of 5% Oregon Jewell Wild Rice, which provides a dry, roasted nut flavor, and Citra Hops for a fruity, orange component.

Contact one of the more well known draft house in Portland (Baileys Taphouse, Eastburn, Belmont Station, Moon & Sixpence, etc.) or visit the brewery direct and get yourself a pint (or growler).
