The 4th of July is one day removed but we can still recall watching Joey Chestnut winning his fifth consecutive Nathan’s Hot Dog Eating title.

For many the shores of Coney Island have provided memories of the pier, the smell of carnival food, and of course ‘the freaks’.

It is with that memory that we are happy to remind you of the release of Shmaltz’s Human Blockhead Barrel-aged Imperial American-style Bock. If you think that was a mouthfeel then read what the brewery had to say about their third successful released beer.

After a sneak peek at June's Beer Advocate American Craft Beer Festival in Boston, MA, we're excited for the national release of Barrel-Aged Human Blockhead, the third offering from our highly-coveted, insanely delicious Barrel-Aged 22oz Special Release series.
Human Blockhead, of course, is our Imperial American Bock, a malt-forward 10% ABV strong lager that we brew seasonally as a tribute to our friend, Donny Vomit, and the original Blockhead, Melvin Burkhardt. Barrel-Aged Human Blockhead is the gilded liquid drawn from first-use Buffalo Trace Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey barrels after 5 months.
Owner Jeremy Cowan shares his initial experience with this rare treat:

"The color is not quite that of a much older bourbon, somewhere between ruby and molasses brown, but glowing. Maple caramel, hints of fruit, and only a slight burst of booze in the finish. Vanilla, yes, but also the richness of Munich and Vienna malt. All the flavor of a much stronger elixir but softened, silky, and luscious without becoming cloying. The evolution of a true professional."

Look for this and other Shmaltz Brewing products wherever you find He’Brew Brewing beers. As always if you don’t find Human Blockhead or other Shmaltz / He’Brew beers ask your grocer to buy some!
