Although there are few events littered throughout Seattle we recently were informed that Iron Horse has drummed up their own citywide celebration, of American Craft Beer Week.
Iron Horse Brewery’s craft beer week events showcase the importance of the entire community in the success of a small brewery. During craft beer week, local restaurants will serve special entrees designed to pair with an Iron Horse brew. On Thursday May 19th from 6-9pm, the Iron Horse Micropub will host a mini beer festival including Eastern Washington breweries: Yakima Craft Brewing, Ancient Lakes Brewing, Palouse Falls Brewing, Snipes Brewery, Ice Harbor Brewery, and Golden Hills Brewing. The mini-brewfest will cost $10 at the door and include a schooner to keep, plus 3 beer tickets. To end the week on May 20th, Iron Horse is teaming up with new restaurateur Jennifer Vertrees, of JJ’s on Main, to offer A Night of Locally Crafted Food and Ales. JJ’s on Main will offer a special four course meal designed to pair with Iron Horse Beers at the restaurant, and appetizers for pairing will be available at the Micropub. Reservations can be made at JJ's.
Local restaurants Spurs, Ellensburg Pasta Company, and Raw Space Cafe each will create a special menu item that pairs well with an iron horse beer and it will be available throughout American Craft Beer week. In recognition of the fact that healthy businesses also have a duty to strengthen their communities, Iron Horse Brewery will give 5% of its retail sales earned during American Craft Beer Week to the FISH food bank and is challenging other local businesses to accept food donations or donate cash as well during this week. Craft beer enthusiasts, pick up passport at either Iron Horse location and get stamp a for each craft beer week event attended. Return a full passport for $15 of free merchandise
