This Saturday while most of you are returning from some weekend destination the parents of Summit Academy will be hosting a Beer Festival at the Muse.
“The Muse has such great character, with a loft and a stage, and the ambience of an artsy, historic barn right on the edge of Fir Island and the Skagit River,” said Ellen Hiatt, a parent organizer of the event. “It’s the right place to make this event fun.”
Rest assured the children will not be serving up tasters of ale and lagers. But, you will be treated to over 20 local beers from such familiar breweries as Diamond Knot, Chuckanut, Anacortes, and Skookum. Add recently arrived North Sound Brewing and you have the makings of a beer festival.
Then again it wouldn’t be a responsible alcohol fed event if you weren’t severed up something savory. Which is why Silvana Meats & Taylor’s Shellfish will be on hand serving up locally grown oysters and brats’. Plus for those willing to hang out for a few hours you are welcome to listen to the sounds of Seattle band The Crying Shame.
We have also been informed that the Winter Ale fest will feature a silent auction with your $40 (at the door or $30 online) souvenir tasting guide and glass. Fore more information visit http://www.basecamptickets.com for tickets and additional information.
