Yesterday we published the story regarding Pike Brewing’s Head Brewer Drew Cluley departing for Big Time. In that story we performed a matrimonial juxtaposition by promoting Debbie Olsen (aka Drew’s wife) to Sister of Bill Jenkins. The truth is Bill Jenkins and Drew Cluley are related through Drew’s sister Cheryl and not Debbie.
Secondly in the case of former brewer (Snoqualmie Falls & Trade Route) Janelle Pritchard, our wording might have confused people into thinking she was was an employee of Big Time. Although she spent many times hanging out at the brewpub, it would be incorrect to assume her formerly on the payroll. We have included this correction as well.
We have attached the original texts and the corrections below.
Original paragraph in the storey regarding Janelle Pritchard
What makes this story even more interesting is the relationship that both Pike and Big Time share since the early 90’s. At one point brewers Kevin Forhan (Elysian & The Ram “Northgate), Fal Allen (Anderson Valley), Skip Madsen (Big Time), Janelle Pritchard, and many more; shared brewing time between the Pike Place Market and University.
Altered to this paragraph in the Story.
What makes this story even more interesting is the relationship that both Pike and Big Time share since the early 90’s. At one point brewers Kevin Forhan (Elysian & The Ram “Northgate), Fal Allen (Anderson Valley), Skip Madsen (American Brewing, Boundary Bay) and even Janelle Pritchard visited the University Way brewery.
Original paragraph in the Story regarding Drew Cluley
For Drew this will also be a returning to the brewery and pub that introduced him to brewing and his wife Debbie Jenkins. If the name sounds familiar it's because Debbie is Big Time Head Brewer Bill Jenkins sister.
Altered to this paragraph in the Story
For Drew the relationship to Big Time goes much deeper since Bill (Jenkins) is his brother-in-law (married to Drew's Sister Cheryl Cluley). Multiply this with the fact that Drew met his wife Debbie Olsen there and you have the makings of a cyclical relationship with one of the oldest brewpubs in Seattle.
Apologies to Drew, Debbie, Bill, Janelle, and Cheryl for potentially inspiring people to ask if this writer got his facts right.
