Another interestingly named beer has a tentative bottle release this coming April. From the folks who gave you such beers as Moose & Squirrel Imperial Russian Stout, Workhorse India Pale Ale, and of course Free Range Red, comes a Brown Ale. But this Brown Ale features a malt and hop bill that is as English as its name. Birds and Yanks, we would like to remind you about Hooligan Brown Ale.
Brewed in the English-style of Brown Ales, this 5.30% Southern English inspired brew could not be released at a more interesting time, April 1st. Here is what the brewery had to say regarding this beer.
Hooligan features imported Marris Otter malt which makes this beer super smooth and easy drinking. Slightly sweet, with just a hint of hops, this beer was brewed in the Southern English tradition with an American twist.
Comments from the Brewmaster:
Chad: “A mix of UK and North American malt are used to create this ode to some of the most rabid football supporters in the world.”
- ABV 5.3%
- IBUs 60
- OG: 14%
Look for this beer to be featured at the pubs as well as at select locations throughout Portland and Seattle (potentially). As always if you don’t see this on the shelves of your nearest bottleshop or grocery store, ask the grocer to buy some!
