Festival Preview: (OR) Zwickelmania coming this Saturday 2/19 to a brewery near you!

There used to be a time when we as American’s had two holidays, one in reverence of Abraham Lincoln and the other of George Washington. Regrettably the powers that be decided that it was trite to designate a whole day to one man. So they manufactured this false holiday known as a President’s Day. And as many of you are aware it’s still not a nationally recognized holiday (meaning time off), save for a few discount opportunities at retail outlets throughout the country.

But for the people of Oregon, its an excellent opportunity for you the consumer to do what you have been probably pondering all year, visiting the brewery (or breweries) that produce that beer you love so much. This Saturday you will get that chance in a sort of “open house” as breweries across the I-5 Corridor and nearby.

Zwickelmania, as it has been called, “… is a free statewide event that offers visitors a chance to tour Oregon breweries, meet the brewers and sample their favorite beers…” (source Oregon Brewer’s Guild). In other words, its a guaranteed, once in a year opportunity to stop into your nearest brewery and enjoy a sample ‘right from the tap’.

Attached is a copy of the participating locations via the Oregon Brewer’s Guild site. For those who wish to visit the OBG website go ahead and click here.
