Seattle, WA - Today January 18th, 2010, after a few months of speculation with a dusting of anticipation, Seattle's latest bottleshop has opened up in the North end. situated on the border of Maple Leaf, off Lake City Way, The Last Drop finally has arrived.
Featuring bottles and growlers to go, the Last Drop hopes to fill a void that exists between Lake City Way and Roosevelt. Today if you take a peek into this recently transformed wine shop (formerly Jacks Cellars) you might see a familiar face, publican Seth Howard. Since 2003, Seth has exhibited his wisdom of what a gastro pub is. Not satisfied with running one pub in Pioneer Square and Maple Leaf, he jumped at the chance to purchase the space next his Hudson Public House.
With an emphasis on maximizing use of the Lake City Way arterial, the Last Drop hopes to supply craft beer enthusiasts with a location in their neighborhood. Currently the hours of operation are much like the beer selection, a work in progress. Starting with a weekly schedule of 2 to 10 PM (Monday thru Thursyday, 1 to 11 on Friday and 2 to 7 Saturday and Sunday; you will be able to brown bag a few beers or grab a growler of the latest draft beers.
During our visit the list of beers featured on the shelves was a combination of the sought after (Russian River, Dogfish Head, Firestone Walker) to the stock (Ninkasi, Deschutes). For us we elected to grab a bottle of the Bitches Brew from Dogfish Head, given that we enjoyed our experience with this Imperial Stout previously. We won't tell you about some of the other rare beers that he has featured in the store, but we can say that you will not be disappointed that you went!
The Last Drop Bottleshop is located on 8016 15th Avenue N.E. in the Maple Leaf Neighborhood near Lake City Way.
