Today while many of you were watching the dredges of College Football, known as “Bowl Season”, a beer has rested on the shelf, waiting for you to consume.

This year much as the previous year’s Firestone Walker has released their Double Jack Double India Pale Ale. True to style, the Double Jack represents the “… hoppiness you expect from a California double but with a Central Coast sensibility of balance and easy finish.” (source Firestone Walker)

Unlike previous years, this beer will be featured in 22 ounce, ‘bombers’ for those looking for a little bit more than a pint of Double Jack, while sitting in the comfort of their home or at a friend's house.

Here is what the brewery had to say regarding their DJIPA.

The Double Jack recipe takes its inspiration of our two-time Great American Beer Festival gold medal winning Union Jack.  By using more of the same ingredients that comprise Union Jack gives Double Jack the familiar flavor of its little brother with more malt flavor and alcohol. This beer rewards drinking in moderation and sharing with friends.

With a wider distribution expected, when compared to last year, you can find this beer on the shelves in CA, WA, OR, NV, and AZ. Plus, for those on the East Coast you can find this in NY, NJ, DC, Chicago (IL), and VA. Sorry for those in MA, NH, MO, and KS it will be available later this year.

As always, if you don’t see this on the shelf, wherever you buy Firestone Walker beer, ask your grocer to buy some!
