Festival Preview: Port Townsend Strange Brewfest 2011, 1/29 & 1/30

Port Townsend, WA - Hard to believe that in less than a week, both fans of beer and the strange will descend upon the small town of Port Townsend for this year's Strange Brewfest. Since 2003 Strange Brewfest has evolved from a festival about beer and hockey to a rite of passage for those who wish to consume odd beer in the cold outdoors of Port Townsend.

Each year the festival features breweries from around Washington who show up not with the conventional or expected, but instead the odd and sometimes unimaginable. Over the years Strange Brewfest has seen beers brewed with nettles, pork-soaked oak chips, Habanero, bacon, and even once dandelions. But it's not just the beer that make this festival enjoyable, it's also the opportunity to speak with your favorite brewer while sharing a toast.
