As the year is winding down and the prospects of paying back the credit cards, the pawn shops, or the nearby family member after a binge of holiday shopping has been exercised, we would like to remind of a returning friend. Part of the “Demons of Ale” series, of limited (but once a year) edition ales, Mephistopheles Imperial is back for another installment.
A word of caution to the first time imbiber of this Imperial Stout, at over 16% Alcohol by Volume, this beer can put you to sleep.
Mephistopheles is the crafty shape shifter, the second fallen angel. Amazingly complex, coal black, velvety and liqueurish, this demon has a bouquet of vine-ripened grapes, anise and chocolate covered cherries with flavors of rum-soaked caramelized dark fruits and a double espresso finish. IBU's 107.
Mephistopheles is the final installment of “The Demons of Ale” series.

As always, look for this beer to start first in bottles at your local grocer, bottleshop, or alehouse (with bottles-to-go). Later expect to see random announcements from various alehouses and select bottleshop (with draft), proclaiming the availability of this limited, released seasonal.
Since 1993 our brewery has been committed to producing eccentric ales and lagers that defy styles or categories. Our products are thoroughly American at heart: blending Old World tradition and expertise with ingenuity, creativity and boldness.
We are dedicated to making beer from the inside out: we brew what we like to drink--with utter disregard for what the market demands-- and search out fans with equally eccentric palates (We learned long ago that expressing your true self is much more fulfilling than giving in to outside pressures. Don't you agree?) If you think your taste buds can keep up with our brews, we invite you to check out our entire lineup of more than twenty different beers.
