Seattle, WA - Thought we forgot about this one, didn't you? Nope, as a certified (or certifiable depending on whom you speak to) regular on Fridays, we have witnessed the efforts of the bartenders, managers, and owners of Naked City these first two years.
Co-Owners Don Webb and Donald Averil, so far seem to have accomplished most of their goals, when they opened this spot, soon to be in its second year. Yet, here we are staring at the calendar with the prospects of another year filled with brewers nights, brewers events, and more Seattle beer week celebrations (crossing fingers). During these two years, the Taphouse has evolved from a small plates and self-serve establishment, to a destination for parents, children, and beer lovers alike.
Speaking out of personal experience, there was an initial sense of trepidation that this would be another taphouse with a dusting of potato chips (or pickled hop shoots in this case).
But, the menu has grown to feature numerous vegetarian and omnivore options. With that growth has come changes on a quarterly basis, some good and some bad. However, through all this we have remained staunch supporters.
So this Friday, you are encouraged to visit the Taphouse, shake Don (Webb) and Donald's (Averil) hands, to congratulate them on their confirmed success and encourage them to keep up the passionate work into the third year.
Here's what the brewery and taphouse had to say regarding our expectations at the Anniversary, this 22nd (of October).
The two year anniversary will kick off on Friday, the 22nd of October, at 4pm. Naked City, the infamously gritty film noir to which the brewery owes its namesake, will be screened all night Friday. There will also be a selection of old favorites from menus past offered all weekend long. Come in to find out the details!
Tapping the night of the 22nd will be:
- New Riders of the Purple Sage – Blackberry Sage Porter
- Boo Radley – Pumpkin Ale
- Broken Bycicle – Fresh-hopped Saison
- Double Header 2nd Anniversary Ale - Oaked Imperial IPA
- and many more!
Friday is the official anniversary but events will continue all weekend!
Congratulations Don, Donald, Nicky, Corina, John, Rick, Aurora, April, and the rest of the staff for providing thirty appetites with cheers, food, and exceptional beers. *apologies for mis-spellings

Once upon a time, there were two dudes named Donald and Don.
One as an engineer toiling away on the super computers of a local university, and the other was a supervisor managing the complex operations of a billionaire.
Both of them love their jobs, but more than their jobs they loved beer.
Each Don had a recurring dream of a magical place without a name, a place where great beers in the world flowed like Salmon le Sac at flood stage, and the fine brewing tradition of the Pacific Northwest stood proudly beside the best concoctions from far-flung breweries across Asia and Across Europe. ....
